North Kingstown Recycling Program
The Town of North Kingstown participates in the Recycle Together RI Recycling Program with the Rhode Island Resource Recovery Corporation, collecting single-stream recyclables every-other-week from households in the program using an automated collection of Town issued 96-carts that are assigned to each household. The carts are the property of the Town and should remain at the assigned address; residents moving from one location in town to another should LEAVE the cart at the residence moving from. Residents are encouraged to recycle whenever possible. There is a one-time $75 charge for an additional cart.

E-Waste Disposal Program Available
The Town of North Kingstown provides an E-Waste collection program at the North Kingstown Transfer Station for the disposal of unwanted televisions and computer/electronic equipment. This program is only available to users of the Transfer Station.
Residents disposing of televisions and computer monitors are asked to stop at the Scale House for instructions on how to dispose of these items. Residents disposing of all other acceptable items are asked to drop them off with transfer station personnel at the scale house. Only those items listed will be accepted.
See the DO's and DONT's for what items are ACCEPTABLE for recycling (attached below).
Can I recycle styrofoam? RI Resource Recovery has partnered with DART Container to host a container at the Small Vehicle Area (at the Central Landfill, Johnston, RI) to drop off polystyrene (Styrofoam).
How to prepare for drop off: Foam must be clean, dry and bagged in clear or translucent bags. Foodservice foam (like coffee cups and food trays) must be bagged separately from all other foam. NO spongy foam (think #1 Fan fingers) and NO packing peanuts.
Composting available at Transfer Station
Why not bring your leaves or grass clippings to the North Kingstown Transfer Station compost area to be recycled into grade a compost material? Great for gardens, this high quality compost material is made available for free to town residents. The disposal of leaves & grass clippings is also free for north kingstown residents; contractors are charged at a rate of $8.00 per cubic yard; $8.00 minimum per load charge.
