Along with falling leaves and brisker air, November is the time to celebrate the miracle of gratitude. Gratitude can transform our hearts and change the way we see the world, but at times does not come naturally~ it must be cultivated in mindfulness and in daily appreciation for all we have. Our staff would like to wish our volunteers, participants, and friends a Happy Thanksgiving and hope that we take a moment to think of all we have to be thankful for.
Thanksgiving comes twice this month to Beechwood! Our first celebration is on Wednesday November 20,2013 with Bobby Bourassa entertaining at 10:45 and a homemade lunch at Noon. A Thanksgiving Luncheon will also be served on Friday, November 22, 2013 at noon. When making reservations please be sure to specify which Thanksgiving Program you will be attending. Looking forward to seeing you share your gratitude with our staff at one of these special celebrations!
I would like to Thank all who helped make the “Friends of Beechwood” Open House such a success. We enjoyed the company, food and entertainment. The North Kingstown Senior Association (Friends of Beechwood) helped make this happen with both financial support and their continued commitment towards enriching the lives of older adults. We met many new people and hope all will continue to share time with us on trips, programs and volunteering.
Jules Cohen, President of the North Kingstown Senior Association (Friends of Beechwood) asked me to share the following with you ~ “I want to take this opportunity to welcome the new members of North Kingstown Senior Association (NKSA); doing business as the Friends of Beechwood. As you know, the Center is available to everybody without their having to join the “Friends of Beechwood”. By joining us however, you are providing your support for our wonderful program; both financially and perhaps as a volunteer. This help for the years to come is the key to sustaining and building the programs at Beechwood. I wish to thank you for joining us and look forward to seeing you around Beechwood whenever possible.”
ADOPT-A-FAMILY Program, November and December ~ In celebration of the upcoming Holidays, we at Beechwood would like to Adopt-a-family within our community who is currently in a less fortunate position than we are. A donation box will be placed in our Dining Room for individuals interested in joining us towards helping a family through the holiday season. Thank you in advance for your generous support.
Please take some time to look over our programs, join a class, or join our staff as the Holiday Celebrations begin at Beechwood! Wishing you and your families a Happy and Healthy Thanksgiving!
Enjoy your age!
