Our Mission

The mission of the North Kingstown Fire Department is to provide for the protection of life and property, through the efficient and effective delivery of emergency and non-emergency services.

Department History

The North Kingstown Fire Department was organized in 1917 with a Board of Fire Commissioners, a Fire Chief, Deputy Chiefs, Captains, Lieutenants, and Privates. The Town Council appointed the Fire Commissioners. The Fire Chief, as well as the remainder of the on-call firefighters, were appointed by the Fire Commissioners.

The Department began to move towards a full-time paid organization shortly after the Great 1938 Hurricane, and increased its number of paid members during World War II.

Fire Stations

Station #2 is located at 1865 Boston Neck Road.

Station #3 is located at 6445 Post Road.
