Sawmill Pond |
Sawmill Pond is located
in the Davisville neighborhood of North Kingstown.
The dam to the Pond is currently breached and
the basin is filled with sediment,
however the 9 acre
pond continues to hold important cultural values.
Sawmill Pond offers opportunities for restoring ecological values
lost when early settlers dammed Sandhill Brook
to power their sawmill. By being proactive and
deciding on a course of action now, the Town and the
community that surrounds the pond will more likely be able to attract the
resources
necessary to shaping Sawmill Pond's future. |
