  TICK TALK & LYME DISEASE

What is Lyme disease?
Lyme disease is caused by a microscopic cork-screw shaped bacteria called Borrelia burgdorferi, often called the "Great Imitator" because its symptoms can easily be confused
with other ailments such as influenza, infectious mononucleosis, and rheumatoid arthritis.

The disease often starts as a skin rash and can progress to more serious stages involving joints or heart tissue. Antibiotics are usually effective in treating Lyme.
