SEA BREEZE DINING
BEECHWOOD HOUSE SENIOR CENTER

Sea Breeze Dining overlooks beautiful Narragansett Bay in historic Wickford.
Nutritionally balanced hot lunches are served Monday through Friday. If you prefer a
lighter meal, sandwiches are also served daily.
The primary goal of the program is to promote good health among older Rhode Islanders.
However, many people say the best part is making new friends
and being reunited with old friends.

At Sea Breeze Dining holidays are celebrated with special meals such as St. Patrick's
Day with Corned Beef and Cabbage. There is also a special Birthday Party with cake, ice
cream and flowers each month.

one is refused a meal if they cannot afford the suggested donation of
$3.00.

Meals On Wheels
MEAL ON WHEELS is a vital and well established program in North Kingstown. While we
are able to provide meals for between 40-50 individuals on any given day, during the
course of a month we will average serving 40 different individuals. This service attempts
to solve some of the problems presented by older persons or the handicapped who are
homebound. Convalescents can also be served, which enable them to return to their homes
following a hospital stay. Meals on Wheels comes into these homes with nourishing food
Monday through Friday.
Without volunteers, this program would not be possible. Our volunteers come from a
cross section of our community, housewives, college students, business people, retired
persons, teachers or part-time works.
The North Kingstown volunteers are a very dedicated group. Because of the volume of
need our routes are broken down into three areas: North, South, and Middle. These meals
are delivered between 11:00 and 1:00 and consist of a hot, ready to eat dinner within an
insulated, recyclable container. Delivery of a meal once a day also means MORE THAN A MEAL
to the recipients. The personal touch of a warm and friendly visitor can do wonders to
brighten their day.
