Town of North Kingstown Transportation Services:

Where: Transports within town only -to Beechwood House, Shopping, Medical (pharmacy,
office visits, labs, etc.) and Hairdressers, etc.
When: Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays between 10:15 and 2:00
pm.* (No appointments on Tuesdays)
Who: North Kingstown resident 55 +
Fee: No Charge

SHOPPING SCHEDULE:
Stop & Shop Plaza Tuesday mornings from your home - call 268-1590 to

Daves Marketplace in Wickford @ 10:00 am Thursday mornings from your home
Wal-Mart (2nd Monday of the month) @ 1:00 pm from the Senior Center
STATE TRANSPORTATION SERVICES:
Department of Elderly Affairs (RIDE)
For medical appointments in-town on Tuesdays or to schedule out of town medical
appointments, therapy, cancer treatments, kidney dialysis, senior day care and meal site
lunches.
Where: Transportation provided statewide
When: Weekdays only between the hours of 10:00 am
and 1:00 pm.
Who: 60+ or handicapped who meet certain criteria
Fee: No charge for medical appointments.
Two to four weeks notice needed to
secure ride

VOLUNTEER TRANSPORTATION:
Friends in Service to Humanity (FISH)
Where: Transportation provided statewide
Who: Medical and Social Service appointments for
North Kingstown or Exeter residents.
Fee: Donations appreciated

Seniors Helping Others (SHO) will also provide transportation
when able.
Where: Transportation provided statewide

SOUTH COUNTY HOSPITAL
Wave Van will transport to and from hospital only at no charge.

Rhode Island Public Transit Authority Bus Pass Program
Fee: $5 for a 5-year pass; qualified riders with
disability pay $2 for 2-year pass. Pass holders pay half-fare on off-peak hours,
weekends, and holidays. "No Fare" program available for riders
enrolled in Medical Assistance or Rhode Island Pharmaceutical Assistance to the Elderly
(RIPAE) program, or who have incomes within the RIPAE limit.

Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) Services for Americans with
Disabilities Act (ADA Paratransit Services)
Where: Transportation provided along all existing
RIPTA service routes with door to door service.
Who: People with disabilities
Fee: Rate is twice the standard bus rate
